Adding a New Project

The Project Manager page allows you to add new projects to the system, when necessary.

To add a new project:

  1. From the Administration Menu, click the Project Manager hyperlink in the Project Administration section. The Project Manager page displays

  2. Select the grant for which you wish to add a new project from the Grant Group drop-down menu in the Project Manager section. All projects for the selected grant display in the Projects section. If all monies for a grant have been distributed, the Award table is not displayed and a new project cannot be added.

  3. Click the [add new project] hyperlink in the upper right portion of the Grant Year Projects section. The New Project page displays.

  4. Complete the Investment Plan, National Priority, Project Type, Project Title, Project Description, “Region Specific project instructions to all subgrantees,” Target Capabilities, Primary Goal, and Objective 1 fields by selecting the appropriate options from the drop-down menus and entering text into the fields provided. All fields marked with a >> symbol are required.

The type of funds being used for a selected grant year determine the type of strategy that displays on the New Project page. If the selected grant year pulls from state funds, a State Strategy section displays. If the selected grant years pulls from UASI funds, a UASI strategy section displays. If the grant year pulls from both fund types, both strategy type sections display.
 

  1. After completing all the appropriate and required fields, click the Add button in the Action section at the bottom of the page. The Project Manager page displays and the project is marked as being in a "submitted" status. The project request is sent to the SAA for review. After the SAA approves the project, the necessary funding will be available for award to the subgrantee through the Grant Adjustment Request (GAN) process.   2. To add notes to a subgrantee, click the [distribution] hyperlink from the region's Project Manager page and then click the [notes] hyperlink to the right of each subgrantee for which you wish to add notes. The “Specific project instructions” field displays below the selected subgrantee’s row in the Subgrantees section.

  3. Enter any necessary instructions into the “Specific project instructions” field and then click the Add button located just below the field on the far right side of the page. This adds your note to the designated subgrantee, displays a "**notes have been added" message to the right of the subgrantee name in the Subgrantees column, and changes the [notes] hyperlink.

  4. Once all notes are added to the desired subgrantees, click the Save button in the Actions section. This returns you to the Project Manager page and the new project is listed in Build status.

  5. Repeat steps 3-8, adding projects until all funds for the selected grant year are distributed.
